Former Cuero Football Star Doubtful For UT-OU
Whittington Still Recovering From Injury
Austin, Texas —
Will Jordan Whittington play for the Texas Longhorns against Oklahoma Saturday?
In the Horns’ opener against Louisiana Tech, the former Cuero state champion suffered a sports hernia, and head coach Tom Herman said the freshman would be out six weeks. Monday, coach Herman told the media that Whittington is progressing, but is doubtful for this week. Coach Herman says that it was “maybe a bit of a pipe dream, ” to have him back for OU, but he has not had setbacks. After the injury, the Longhorns sent Whittington to Philadelphia to have a procedure performed by doctor William Meyers, considered the godfather of this type of surgery. Whittington missed the first four games of Cuero’s season last year with the same injury in the same area.
