Food Bank of the Golden Crescent receives $2 million donation from Formosa

VICTORIA, Texas — On Thursday, the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent announced a $2 million donation from Formosa Plastics to help the organization’s food assistance efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The food bank expects the gift will help them provide approximately six million meals to at-need families in the region.

“We’re so excited, so grateful,” said Robin Cadle, CEO and President of the FBGC. “I’m still kind of shaking inside. But it’s awesome. Not much better than this.”

The presentation ceremony was attended by Jack Wu, Vice President of Business Development for Formosa, as well as District 27 Congressman Michael Cloud and Texas State Representative Geanie Morrison.

The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent’s operations have expanded during the coronavirus pandemic as they seek to assist more families suffering from hunger in the area.
