Flyers, Lady Flyers both win big at home

STJ basketball got a sweep against Brownsville St. Joseph on Saturday

VICTORIA, Texas — St. Joe boys and girls basketball both won big Saturday afternoon.

Playing at home on senior day, the Lady Flyers got the action started with a 77-44 win over Brownsville St. Joseph, getting 27 points from Jozelyn Washington and 21 points from Taylor Foeh in the win. The Lady Flyers improved to 24-8 overall with the win, and 6-2 in district play.

The St. Joe boys followed with an even more dominant performance, cruising to a 106-61 victory behind a game-high 34 points from KeAon Griffin. Quincy Johnson added 17 points for the Flyers as they stayed perfect in district play at 8-0, and improved to 21-5 overall.

The Lady Flyers finish the second in the district standings and will play their first playoff game against San Antonio Providence a neutral location. The site and time for the Lady Flyers game is still TBD.

St. Joe boys basketball will host their playoff opener in the STJ Dome on either February 17th or 18th.
