First responders enjoy free lunch at KB’s BBQ

Over 160 meals were provided to honor first responders

VICTORIA, Texas – KB’s BBQ showed their appreciation for first responders in the surrounding area by treating them to a free lunch. Located a few miles outside of Victoria, KB’s BBQ treated the first responders of Victoria and the surrounding areas to a free lunch. Guests had a choice of three plates: pork steak, chicken breast, or brisket sandwich. Each plate came with two sides or a side and chips. The lunch was from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. KB’s BBQ served over 160 plates of food to first responders in the four hour period. Owner and Operator Kevin Broll said this was the least they could do to show appreciation to the men and women who do so much for our community.

They work for us but they provide us safety, a 9-1-1 call if you are in an emergency, in a wreck or having a heart attack. We as a community owe these people so much and it’s the least we could do.

A generous donation was given by a resident of the community to help cover the cost of the food. This was the third year that KB’s BBQ has hosted an event to honor first responders and Broll said it wont be the last. KB’s BBQ received calls about if health care workers could receive meals. Broll decided to have a day dedicated just to health care workers. Health care workers can enjoy a free meal as well as some live music for entertainment on Friday July 17th. Health care workers can receive a meal anytime between 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. because of their busy schedule.
