Firefighters work blaze at metal building

VICTORIA- Around 2 a.m. firefighters were called to a fire at a metal building at 4702 N. Vine. Records show the building belongs to Texas Concrete Co.

KAVU crews on the scene report firefighters were delayed due to a locked gate. Authorities had to shut down a portion of Main Street near the intersection of Mockingbird, so they could access a fire hydrant.

Firefighters said the large building contained a carpenter workshop and a tire workshop. The main goal was to keep the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings. The fire was contained at 2:48 a.m.
