Fire near Fannin burns 2,000 acres
The fire has now been contained.
FANNIN, Texas – Multiple area fire departments responded to a large grass fire near Fannin over the weekend. The Goliad Volunteer Fire Department posted on their Facebook that the fire has been contained at 2,000 acres. The Texas Forestry Service even offered assistance with their large air tanker helping with the blaze. At this time it is unknown how the fire started.
Multiple fire departments assisted with Beeville, Refuigo, Bayside Volunteer, Ander, Schroeder, Weesatche, Fannin, and Victoria Fire Departments all helping out. The Goliad Volunteer Fire Department also wanted to thank area ranchers for their assistance.
