‘Fire and Ice’ free event to teach kids of fire safety

The Victoria Fire Department will host the event at Fire Station Four

VICTORIA, Texas – The Victoria Fire Department will host “Fire and Ice”, a free event at 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 21. The event will take place at Fire Station Four, 2007 Salem Road.

“Fire and Ice” will teach children about fire safety, first aid and teamwork. Children entering third and fourth grade will also have the opportunity to meet their local first responders.

Firefighters and EMTs will educate participants on fire safety and how to administer CPR and first aid. The event will also have team building exercises in the day’s activities.

The event allows up to 30 participants, maximum. You can register your child by visiting victoriatx.gov/1056/Fire-Ice. Caregivers must bring a completed photo release waiver and liability waiver the day of the event.

Once forms are complete, guardians may drop off their children at the location. Each participant is asked to bring a bottle of water and a snack.

Baskin-Robbins will provide the “ice” to the “fire” by providing ice cream at the closing of the event.
