Six Faith Players Earn All-State Honors

Six Faith Academy basketball players are picked for the TAPPS 2A All-State team.

Three Cougars make All-State. Evan Tijerina, first team All-State, while Avery Yates is a second team pick and Jacob Hall gets Honorable Mention. Five Cougars make first team All-District. Tijerina, District MVP after averaging 16 points, seven assists and seven rebounds per game. Yates averaged 15 points and three steals per game. Hall, with an average of 14 points per game, makes first team with teammates Tyler Torres and Luke Sevier. Faith boys second team All-District picks are Landon Rodgers, James Ortiz and Keigan Rendon. Honorable Mention All-District going to Thorbin Briones and Deuce Graham.

Three Faith Academy girls basketball players, getting All-State honors. From the TAPPS 2A state semifinalists, Faith Kucera makes first team after averaging 18 points and eight rebounds per game. Hannah Bazar, second team All-State with averages of 15 points and six steals per game. All-State Honorable Mention going to Kami Stafford, averaging ten points, five steals and five rebounds a game. Those three and Jade Thomas make first team All-District. For the Faith girls, second team All-District picks were Jaylen Dorsett, Analissa Castillo, and Kora Gonzalez. Honorable Mention All-District goes to the Lady Cougars’ Sloan Turner.
