Fair Nights and Scorching Afternoons through the Weekend

Tropical Moisture Returns Next Week

Yesterday’s rainfall is a distant memory as upper level high pressure exerts its force on South Texas, clearing skies and lifting the mercury above 100 degrees this weekend. The heat will be short-lived, however, as the upper ridge shifts into the eastern Gulf of Mexico and allows tropical moisture into the Crossroads. A small upper level disturbance rotates into the middle Texas coast by Tuesday, eventually merging with a trough in the Westerlies to create a soup of humidity and higher rain chances. The best opportunity for meaningful precipitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs next week will remain in the middle to upper 90s, with lows in the middle 70s.
