Fair and Mild through Saturday, then Rain Chances Return for Sunday

Skies are generally clear over the Crossroads this evening and will be sunny on Saturday as a gusty south wind raises daytime temperatures to near 80 degrees, but changes are on the way. A cold front impinging on the region will bring scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, but not much in the way of colder air. In fact, no significant temperature changes is expected until next Friday. In the meantime, increasing instability ahead of a strong cold front set to arrive early next Friday will bring isolated to scattered showers Wednesday and Thursday. The tropical Atlantic remains quiet, but eyes are on the Eastern Pacific, where a disturbance is likely to become a tropical depression this afternoon. The system is 800 miles south of the southern tip of Baja California and moving northeast, which means it may ultimately contribute moisture to South Texas.
