Facebook Live post lands Shiner man in jail
A social media post has led to the arrest of a Shiner man on multiple charges in Lavaca County.
According to a Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office press release, Sgt. Anthony Vaccaro was tipped to a Facebook Live video showing Stephon Monroe Bradley, 35 of Shiner, smoking marijuana while firing off his handgun multiple times while a child recorded him. The video also showed him pointing the loaded gun in the direction of the child holding the camera before firing several shots near the child.
After watching the video, which was posted on Monday, Sgt. Vaccaro obtained a search warrant and, with the help of the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, searched Bradley’s home. Bradley was taken into custody. Three handguns, with the serial numbers tampered with, and marijuana were found during the search.
Sheriff Harmon commended Sgt. Vaccaro for his investigation and thanked VCSO for their assistance, “It was imperative that we remove the children from this volatile and dangerous environment in an expeditious manner. Thanks to the close working relationship between the LCSO and VCSO, we were able to do so.”
