Extreme Heat and Humidity Dominate Crossroads Weather Pattern

Heat Advisories Likely Tuesday, Wednesday

Upper level high pressure continues to grip the southern and southwestern U.S. early this week, dominating the region with extreme heat and humidity. Crossroads heat indices exceed 110 degrees in many locales, prompting NWS heat advisories. Those advisories are likely to be reissued Tuesday and Wednesday, before a weak cold front enters the region. That front will not reduce temperatures more than a couple degrees, but will bring isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday and Friday. Don’t expect more than a quarter inch of however, however, and highs will remain in the upper 90s through the first of next week.
