Emma Koch and Anissa Ferris battled in the playoffs in golf tournament

The Lauren Johnson golf tournment went into playoffs on Saturday

VICTORIA,Texas–The Lauren Johnson Varsity Girls Golf two day tournament wrapped up on Saturday at the Victoria Country Club. Victoria East sophomore Emma Koch led after one round heading into the final day of play. She would double bogey two holes and eventually finish the round with an 83. She would end up tying Anissa Ferris from C.C. Veterans Memorial and they would head into playoffs.

“That was my first playoffs so I was shaky when I got on that tee box because we had flipped the coin and I was the one to go first, so then I hit and she missed too so I could tell she was nervous too. So after that I was like okay we’re both nervous it’s okay,” said Koch.

Unfortunately, Koch would 3 putt what would be the final playoff and finish 2nd overall. Veterans Memorial took 1st place. Round Rock McNeil placed 2nd and Victoria East finished in 3rd. West Colombia came in 4th and Victoria West finished in 5th.
