Edna Football Wins First Round Playoff

Edna football starts the playoffs with a big win. I was there for Edna vs. Palacios, 3A Division I bi-district.The Sharks first football playoff game in 11 years. First quarter action, Kenny Haynes gets the call for the Cowboys. He will finally get corralled at the Palacios 42. A few plays later, Edna goes for it on fourth and three, calls Haynes’ number, and he will get the first down with a little to spare. Then it’s a pitch to Javonte Seymore, he has some room. Seymore sees himself get down to the Sharks’ 24. Then it’s Haynes again. Nice hole created by the o-line, nice cutback by Haynes, down to the four. From there, Big Game Haynes will score, as Edna takes the early 7-0 lead. After a three and out for Palacios, the Sharks’ worst nightmare. Haynes in the clear. he will take this down to the Palacios 21 yard line. Very next play, quarterback Reese Orsak, play fake, to the end zone and Ahmad Callis. Edna takes control and the Cowboys take a 41-7 halftime lead over the Sharks. Edna goes on to win, 61-21. Cowboys now 10-1. Palacios ends its season with a 5-6 record.Class 3A Division I
