East Titans opening game to be the Peanut butter Bowl
Football team plans to help peanut butter distribution to the food bank of the Golden Crescent
VICTORIA, TX-Victoria East high school football players and coaches will meet at the East high school performance gym on Friday morning to designate their season opening game as a Peanut Butter Bowl, dedicated to fighting food insecurity.
On July 29th, at 10:30 a.m. the East Titans will collect jars of peanut butter for distribution to the food bank of the Golden Crescent to help feed people in need.
East and Taft will be among more than 40 high schools and communities throughout central and south Texas participating in Peanut Butter Bowls in their season openers this year.
Donations of $2 per jar may be made online at peanutbutterbowl.com, and jars can be delivered to the schools’ athletic offices the week of the game or taken to the game.
Nearly 100,000 jars-worth have been donated at games in the years since 2016.
