East Softball Star Signs With College 4-17
Hill Heads To Oklahoma
Victoria, Texas — A happy occasion for an East softball player Wednesday afternoon.
Jasmine Hill, the Titans starting center fielder the past two seasons, signing with Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Hill is batting .326 this season for East. Last year, she was an All-District honorable mention choice. I talked with Jasmine Hill and East softball head coach Melissa Buck.
Said Hill, “I’m very excited to take the next step in life and pursue my college experience in playing softball. I had a great opportunity and I took it. I thank my coaches as well for getting me this opportunity.”
Said coach Buck, “It’s exciting. Hopefully she’s not our only one this year. She’s worked hard, she’s put in the work and she’s progressively better for the two years she’s been here. She’s definitely earned this opportunity.”
East softball takes on its archrival, West, Thursday night at 6:30 at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex. It’s the district finale for both teams, and winner goes to the playoffs.
