East Softball Player Signs With College

Steen Picks UHV

An East softball standout, not going far to play in college.
Cameron Steen, signing Thursday with UHV. The senior pitcher and utility player, an All-District honorable mention pick last season, had a 3.74 ERA and a .333 batting average. Steen is the fourth Titan softball player to sign to play at the next level in the last six months. I talked with Cameron and Titan softball head coach Melissa Buck.

Said Steen, “I’ve dreamed of this since I was 12 years old. It’s really an honor to be able to play another four years after high school. Not many people are able to do that. “

Said coach Buck, “It’s awesome, especially with it being a four-year school and being close to home. Hopefully that will help build relationships for not only her but also for the kids coming after her.”

Friday, Shiner softball pitcher Cameron Cowan will sign with UHV.
