East soccer sweeps Miller at Memorial

Titan girls, boys win big against Miller

VICTORIA, Texas — East boys and girls soccer both won big at Memorial Tuesday.

The Titan girls took the field first, scoring three times in the game’s first few minutes to take a commanding lead they wouldn’t relinquish. They added another goal just before halftime to take a 4-0 lead into the break, then added two more in half number two. The Titans went on to defeat the Buccaneers, 6-1 to improve to 3-0 in district play.

Chloe Spencer, Kyleigh Spree-Kolos, Kirsten Ysaguirre, Hailey Bast, April Aguirre and Bela Roth each found the back of the net for East.

In the late game, the East boys continued the scoring trend. The Titans traded goals with Miller in the first 15 minutes of play before Joe Aguirre scored on a beautiful free kick just outside the box to give East a 2-1 lead. Julio Aguirre and Victor Gutierrez also scored for the Titans as they went on to win 4-1 and improved to 1-1-1 in district.

East boys and girls soccer continue district play against Veterans Memorial in Corpus on Tuesday.
