East soccer closes out district play

East soccer closed out district play Friday night with two big home games against Terry.

First the Titan boys played at Memorial Stadium, needing a win to make the playoffs. However, East boys soccer would end their season with a 5-1 loss. Abraham Salazar scored the Titans’ goal, assisted by Erik Chavez. The Titans end the season 5-6-1 in district, and 11-8-1 overall.

The East girls also hosted their final district game against Terry. The Titans got the shutout win, 2-0. Olivia Salas and Kaylee Brewer scored goals for the Titans. Our athlete of the week Drew Garcia earned her sixth district shutout with seven saves. The win put the East girls at 8-2-2 in district, but they finished second after Angleton beat Calhoun, 2-0. The East girls are headed to playoffs next.
