East Girls Soccer Looks To Make More History 4-4

Their First Regional Quarterfinal In Five Years


East girls soccer’s greatest playoff run in half a decade continues Friday night.
The Titan girls won their Area playoff Monday night over Sharyland Pioneer,4-1. Kyleigh Spree-Kolos leading the way with two goals and an assist. I talked with two of the East girls Thursday afternoon about the history they’re making.

Said right defensive back Kamryn Barnett, “It’s a very big achievement. We’ve done it but a long time ago. To be one of the first teams to do that in a while is very exciting for us and it’s very important to all of us.”
Said center midfielder Kirsten Yzaguirre, “Being the first team in that long, it’s really a big achievement for us. We’re there by just playing together. We’re really proud of that and excited.”

The East girls return to Corpus Christi for their first regional quarterfinal since 2014.
This time the Titans face Flour Bluff in the 5A regional quarterfinals Friday night at 6:00.
