East Girls Basketball’s Win Streak Continues

Titans Have Won Six Straight

East girls basketball’s district winning streak, now up to six games.

Tuesday night at East, the Titan girls jumped out to a 20-2 lead over Miller after the first quarter. East rolled from there to a 67-22 win, putting them at 9-2 in district, good for third place. Leilani Wimbish-Gay scored a game-high 17 points. 11 for Alayeh Bryant, nine for Giani Wimbish-Gay. I asked head coach Yulonda Wimbish-North for the biggest reasons for the winning streak.

“Our half court man has been very successful for us. There’s been some moments where things weren’t going so well and then we may come out in the third or second quarter and we’re holding people to 2-3 points, just from our man-to-man defense.”
