East Girls Basketball Gets Big Home Win

Titan Girls Now 5-2 In District

With a big Friday night game looming, East girls basketball picks up a big district win at home Tuesday night.

After falling behind in the second quarter, the Titan girls went on an 11-0 run to take a halftime lead over King. The East girls went from there to a 66-27 win. Brandalyn Rice led the Titan girls with 18 points, Leilani Wimbish-Gay scored 11 points, ten for Zakari Perry. They are now 5-2 in district. Head coach Yulonda Wimbish-North told me how key that win over King was for her team.

“I think it’s very important. We want to win as many games as possible. For us, it would have been detrimental if we would have dropped that game. It’s huge. We have a tiebreaker so it makes a difference on who’s going to be where.”
