East Girls Basketball Advances In Playoffs

Titan Girls Get Big Third Quarter To Win Bi-District

East girls basketball, moving on in the playoffs with a double digit Bi-District win Tuesday night.

The Titan girls, beating Tuloso-Midway by 14 points. The win was keyed by an 18-2 East run in the third. Leilani Wimbish-Gay leading the way with 25 points, Zakari Perry with 22 points, 15 for Brandalyn Rice. The East girls have now made the second round of the playoffs in eight of the ten years they have been playing basketball. I talked with two East girls about the big win.

Said post Trinity Wallace, “Everybody is feeling pretty great. We’re excited to go on to the next game. We just put a lot of work into that first round. We’re all overall very excited. ”

Said wing/guard Renae Mendieta, “It’s on and it honestly feels amazing. That was really the goal just to make it to playoffs. To be able to win the first round just boosts our confidence and makes us want to work harder.”
