East boys, West girls both win in tournament finales

East boys soccer and West girls soccer both played on the road this weekend

Victoria, TEXAS — East boys soccer and West girls soccer both completed tournament play this weekend victoriously.

After dropping their first two games at the Dripping Springs Tournament, the Titans beat Salado on Saturday afternoon to improve to 5-2 overall on the season. Victor Gutierrez scored the lone goal of the match, finding the back of the net for East after being assisted by Joe Aguirre. Xavier Moore earned a shutout for the Titans in goal.

East boys and girls soccer play district home games on Tuesday night against Calhoun.

West girls soccer played at the Cajun Classic this weekend in Port Neches, getting a win over Crosby on Saturday to improve their record to 5-3-1. Jaydn Rangel scored both Warrior goals in the victory, with Kassandra Persinger assisting on one of them. West goalkeeper Macey Franz earned a shutout for the Warriors, recording two saves.

West girls soccer continues district play on the road at Carroll on Tuesday evening.
