East Boys Soccer’s Huge Win
Titans Give Rare District Loss To Veterans Memorial
East boys soccer, coming off a huge district home Tuesday night win.
The Titan boys shut out Veterans Memorial, 2-0, giving the Eagles their first district loss in two years. The East boys, now in third place in district, just two points behind the district co-leaders, Veterans Memorial and Ray, with just four district games left. I asked two Titans how big that win was for their team.
Said center back Caden Allen, “It was a great team win. We had to work together, we had to work hard. It was a physical game. It required everyone to do their job and we came out with a shutout against a team that hasn’t lost in two year for district.”
Said midfielder Santiago Villafranco, “That was the biggest win that we’ve had all season. Beating a team that hasn’t lost in district in two years, that’s huge for us.”
East boys and girls soccer continue district play Friday night in Corpus Christi against Moody.
