Victoria, TEXAS — Titan soccer is officially back in session.

East boys and girls soccer began their seasons this weekend in tournament play. The boys traveled to Kerrville for the Antler Cup, while the girls played at the GP Tournament in Portland.

East boys’ soccer beat San Antonio Holmes in penalties Saturday night, winning the Antler Cup in the process. Tied at 2 after regulation, Xavier Moore blocked three penalty kicks and Joe Aguirre, Alejandro Chavez, and Ernesto Monsivais found the back of the net in PKs to help the Titans earn a 5-4 win. Aguirre and Chavez scored the two East goals in regulation, as the Titans finished the tournament a perfect 3-0.

The East girls, meanwhile, began their season at the GP Tournament. After a season opening 2-1 over Edinburgh Vela on Thursday, the Titans went 2-0-1 on Friday to improve their record on the season to 3-0-1. Kyliegh Spree-Kolos was the high goal scorer for East at the tournament, as the Titans got wins against GP and Incarnate Word and tied San Antonio Veterans Memorial, 1-1.
