East Baseball & Softball Continue District Play

Baseball Loses, Softball Wins

Due to the weather, East baseball had to wait a night to continue district play.
I was at Riverside Wednesday night as the Titans took on Ray. The first batter for East at Riverside this season, Eric Avila, little flare down the right field line. Avila makes it to second standing up, then motions to his mates to drive him home. Two batters later, Zack Shannon would oblige, with the sac fly to left, scoring Avila with the Titans first Riverside run of the season. But Ray scores the game-winning run in the seventh and takes the 3-2 win. Jacob Martinez tosses a five-hitter, six strikeouts in the loss. Titans now 1-1 in district. East baseball starts play Thursday at 3:00 against Katy Tompkins in the New Braunfels tournament.
The weather forced East softball to move its game with Ray back a night and to Corpus Christi.
The Titans get the win, 8-2, to even their district record at 1-1. Kaylynn Franklin tosses a three-hitter. Two RBI’s for A’Nasia Wallace of East.
