Early Voting in Victoria County will start October 13th

VICTORIA, Texas—- Early voting starts October 13th. There will be several locations throughout the community where you can cast your ballot to make sure your voice is heard.

“Now we will have two main locations which will be here at the Pattie Dodson Health Center and at Faith Family Church and we will also have weekend voting on October 24th and 25th at seven locations,” said Margetta Hill, the Victoria County Elections Administrator.

In addition to the two main locations, here are the additional five places to early vote: Placedo VFD, Inez VFD, Bloomington Elementary School, The Victoria Community Center, UHV Multi-Purpose Room. These locations will be open from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, October 24th, and on October 25 the hours are 12 p.m. until 5 p.m.

“If you requested a mail-in ballot, we encourage you to vote with that mail-in ballot because if you go to a polling place and say you want to change your mind and you want to vote in person, you need to take your ballot,” said Hill.

Your mail-in ballot and I.D. will be required if you change your mind and decide to vote in person. You will also have to sign an affidavit giving permission to cancel the ballot by mail so that your vote will not be counted twice.

“We encourage you if you can, if you’re going to change your mind, take the ballot with you. If you don’t take the ballot with you it’s going to be a little time at the polling place so we can make sure that we haven’t received the ballot back,” said Hill.

This is the Presidential Election and the ballot is about six pages. You will not be able to vote straight party ticket you will have to choose the person you want to vote for. You can take a sample ballot with you to the voting locations. Click here to look at the sample ballots.
