Early voting for District 3 runoff
Voters can early vote from now until August 17
VICTORIA, Texas -We are now two weeks away from the District 3 Runoff Election for the City Council seat, however, voters are able to cast their ballot early.
From now until August 16, voters can early vote from 8 am to 5 pm at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center. On the final days of early voting, August 16 and 17, polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm with election day being August 21.
Candidates Duane Crocker and Chad Austin Hall are still encouraging people who live in District 3, made up of precincts 21, 25, and 33, to get out and vote. We spoke with Duane Crocker for an update on the race and early voting.
“We’re asking district 3 to get back out for the third time in four months for the same position, so we understand what we’re asking and our message at this point is just that your vote is more important than it ever has been,” said Crocker.
Candidate Chad Austin Hall said he’s been out knocking on doors leading up to the election.
“It’s going fantastic, we really enjoy being able to visit with our neighbors, and one of the things the campaign gives us the opportunity to do, it gives us the chance to meet with all of our neighbors that otherwise, we’d never have”, said Austin Hall.
The elections administrator reports that so far 679 early votes have been cast, only about 5 and a half percent of eligible voters.
