Synopsis: A few showers over the Gulf made their way into the Crossroads yesterday (Wednesday).  For today, high pressure will remain in control with a very similar weather pattern as yesterday.  The push down effect of the high, and moisture at the surface combined with calm winds could lead to early morning fog on Thursday.  The main difference with today compared to yesterday (Wednesday) is that if there are any showers, they will remain out of the Gulf (a drier day today).  While dewpoint temperatures fall (less moisture), and warmer air moves into the 850 mb/5,000 feet level (CAP/LID as cooler air cannot lift into the warmer air) combined with the push down effect from the high pressure and temperatures will warm even further today with highs in the 104, 105 or even 106 degrees range.  A heat advisory will not be called for (110 degrees or hotter) but the indices could range from 105-109 degrees.

For the long-term period,  Friday through Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be hot and humid with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. Heat indices will be in the 105–109-degree range.  Some disturbances will move across South Texas from east to west on Friday and Saturday.  Due to limited moisture, a storm CAP/LID from the warmer air aloft and high pressure, and rain chances will be very limited if at all.  An increase in moisture due to more disturbances on Sunday and Sunday night could lead an isolated shower or two.  Moisture will continue to move into South Texas making rain more likely on Monday.  By Tuesday, moisture levels will be around 2″, so when a cold front (and trough) passes through the area (Tuesday morning) then rain chances could be the best for Tuesday.

Saharan Dust: Another plume of Saharan Dust could lead to hazy conditions once again beginning Sunday with hazier conditions possible Monday or Tuesday.

Tropical Update: Tropical Cyclone Activity is not expected over the next 48-Hours.
