DWI Task Force Made Seven Arrests During Spring Break

Victoria – A collaborative effort with the Victoria Police Department, Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Department of Public Safety implemented a Driving While Impaired Task Force from March 11th – March 19th, and made 7 DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) arrests.

The primary responsibility of this task force was enforcing traffic laws while searching for DWI violators. This task force was organized to address the critical issues and tragic results of DWI(s) in Victoria County. Weekends and holidays tend to attract more drunk drivers to the road. There are many ways to prevent these types of accidents such as having a designated driver or taking a taxi and leaving your vehicle parked. If you are at a party and someone is leaving after drinking too much, be a friend and stop them.

The Victoria Police Department, Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Department of Public would like to thank all the members of the task force for helping to get this message out to the public. They would also like to thank all of the designated drivers and those who did drink and chose not to drive for helping make this weekend safe.
