Driscoll to sponsor the 28th annual Pediatric Conference virtually this year

The event will take place July 16-17

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Driscoll Health System is sponsoring the 28th annual Pediatric Conference, which will be held virtually this year as Webex lectures due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Driscoll Children’s Hospital physicians and others will be among the speakers at the conference, which will be held on July 16 and July 17. The event is open to physicians providing pediatric care, resident physicians, registered nurses, advanced practice professionals, medical students and public health professionals. The focus of the conference will be to provide the latest information in pediatric subspecialties.

Including four hours of education in medical ethics, this conference provides a maximum of 12 hours in AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™.

The conference will highlight many challenges involved in the clinical care of children. Conference topics were chosen based on educational needs determined from identified professional practice gaps, obtained from conference evaluations from prior years.

President of the American Academy of Pediatrics Lee S. Beers, MD, FAAP, the keynote conference speaker, will give an AAP update on the child health policy agenda for 2021 and moving forward.

Alumni speaker will be Jo-Ann Nesiama, MD, MS, FAAP, Class of 2001, Associate Director of the Pediatric Emergency Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
