DPS Trooper Seizes Drugs During Traffic Stop
VICTORIA – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) on Tuesday, January 10th, seized 10 pounds of high grade marijuana, worth more than $60,000 during a routine traffic stop in Victoria County.
A DPS trooper stopped a 2014 Ford Fusion traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 77 for a traffic violation, the trooper’s roadside interview with the driver lead him to suspect criminal activity.
During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered a black bag containing 10 pounds of marijuana, worth an approximate value of $69,690.00 inside the vehicle.
Thirty-nine pills of Hydrocodone and Xanax pills along with $4,829.00 dollars of US Currency were also seized during the stop.
The occupants Eugene Earwood age 22, Bailey Howerton age 18 and Kelvin Rogers age 21 were arrested for delivery of Marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance and were transported to the Victoria County Jail.
