DPS issues 118 tickets in Lavaca County increased enforcement

Victoria – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) stopped more than 100 vehicles in Lavaca County. Traffic enforcement was increased from Friday, July 28th, through Sunday, July 30th . DPS Troopers made 117 traffic stops and issued 118 citations and warnings. Their efforts also resulted in two DWI arrest, one drug arrest.

In addition to enforcing traffic and criminal laws, Troopers assisted motorist who need help. No crashes were reported over the three day enforcement, “I’m extremely pleased with the hard work of our Troopers over the weekend,” said DPS Regional Commander Freeman Martin. “Their efforts had a direct impact on keeping Texans safe.”
