Door to door surveys to begin in Victoria as part of flood relief project
VICTORIA, Texas — A team of surveyors will begin making contact this week with residents in south and southwest portions of Victoria as part of the City of Victoria’s efforts to improve drainage in those areas.
The door-to-door surveys will begin Thursday, May 2 and should conclude on Monday, May 6. The surveyors are working in conjunction with the City’s contractor, GrantWorks, in gathering information that will be used in the City of Victoria’s application for a grant. The Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), through the Texas General Land Office, is funded through Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
The surveyors will carry official identification and a letter of introduction from Mayor Paul Polasek. The Mayor asks residents to cooperate with the survey-takers to provide the best and relevant information to assist in the development of the grant and future projects to alleviate flooding in their neighborhood.
Residents who wish more information or to verify the identity of the surveyors may call the City Manager’s Office at 485-3030 during normal office hours. After normal office hours, residents may call the Police Department non-emergency number at 573-3221.
