DeTar Healthcare continues with patient care during Polar Plunge

DeTar dealing with interruption to water supply
VICTORIA, Texas- During The Polar Plunge to hit the Crossroads this week DeTar Healthcare System was able to continue patient care without disruption. The hospital had water issues Tuesday night, but water was restored Wednesday morning. The hospital has not had power outages.

Judith Barefield, Director of Marketing for DeTar Healthcare System, released this statement to Newscenter25:

“Like most of our community, DeTar Healthcare System’s water supply was interrupted Tuesday evening due to the City of Victoria’s water main breaks. The water supply at DeTar Hospital North was reestablished Wednesday morning, and we have implemented our disaster plan to help us navigate the lack of water on the DeTar Hospital Navarro campus and sustain patient care,” said Barefield.  “We routinely plan for disasters that may impact our facilities, including weather-related issues. Our disaster plans help guide us in preparing our facilities to minimize the effects this weather event has had on our patients, providers and staff.”
