Deputy Walton retires as longest serving, active Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Texas

VICTORIA COUNTY, Texas – On Monday, Victoria County Sheriff Marr announced the retirement of longtime Victoria County Reserve Deputy Sheriff Bobby W. Walton. Deputy Walton began his service with Victoria County under Sheriff Dalton G. “Dutch” Meyer 45 years ago. He continued to serve under Sheriff Ratcliff, Sheriff O’Connor and Sheriff Marr.

Numerous employees joined Deputy Walton in the classroom on Monday. Sheriff Marr presented a plaque to Deputy Walton commemorating his service to Victoria County.

As of Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, Deputy Walton was the longest serving active Reserve Deputy Sheriff in the State of Texas. According to a Facebook post on the VCSO Facebook page, they are sad to see Deputy Walton retire, but it is well deserved. Sheriff Marr and the employees of the VCSO extended their gratitude to Deputy Walton.
