Deep Tropical Moisture Over the Crossroads The Next Seven Days

Scattered thunderstorms are continuing to move west throughout the Crossroads. As the sun goes down, the storms will fall apart like normal. Saturday, we will see the same thing of scattered showers and storms throughout the Crossroads. Rain chances will remain high for the next seven days. The best chance of rain will be Labor Day into Wednesday. As upper high pressure remains in the Northeast, we will continue to see series of tropical waves move into the Crossroads.

In the tropics, Tropical Depression Six is affecting the Cape Verde Islands now. At some point, it will become Tropical Storm Florence and gain latitude. Closer to the Crossroads, the Hurricane Center is watching an area of showers and storms near Haiti. Currently, the tropical wave has a 10% of development in the next five days. Regardless if it develops or not, the tropical wave will give scattered storms to everyone along the Gulf Coast.
