Declaration of Independence reading at DeLeon Plaza Friday
This morning at De Leon Plaza was the reading of the Declaration of Independence. This makes the 3rd year of the reading and the idea originated from Houston in 2010 and now every county in Texas takes part in the reading.
“Many of the signers of the DOI were attorneys and so that the reason Bar Association around the state have decided it would be a great idea to read a document publicly each year on the eve of the 4th of July,” said Constance Filly Johnson.
July 4th 2017 will mark 241 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
