Daily Rain Chances; Atlantic Basin Very Active

A foggy start for parts of the Crossroads. Showers are developing in the Gulf of Mexico and will move inland throughout the morning hours. We have lots of moisture in the atmosphere. Good rain chances are expected over the next few days. As a result of the storms around, temperatures will be held down in the lower 90s. In Victoria, we are still several inches below normal for this time of year. By Tuesday, the upper level trough will exit the Crossroads and we will see high pressure ridging. The high pressure ridging will shut down our rain chances some.

The tropics are very active in the Atlantic Basin. Gordon is now a tropical depression moving across Arkansas and Mississippi. Hurricane Florence is a Category Three storm moving northwest. Models are showing Florence getting close to the east coast. We will continue to watch. Invest 92-L is west of Africa. Hurricane Center giving it a 90% chance of development in the next five days. Another tropical wave will move off the coast of Africa in next couple of days. We will be watching it for development.
