Cuero Volunteer Fire Department to host IBCA BBQ Cook-off event in July

CUERO, Texas – The Cuero Volunteer Fire Department will host its International Barbeque Cookers Association (IBCA) Sanctioned BBQ Cook-off event on July 22 and 23. The event will take place at the Cuero City Park, located at Leonard Roy Harmon Drive off of Highway 87 North by the golf course.

Funds raised from the BBQ Cook-off will go towards the upkeep and purchase of new equipment for local firefighters. Those interested in participating will need to pay a $200 entry fee. Participants must cook all meats on-site. Meats include brisket, pork spare ribs and one chicken halve. Jackpots include margaritas, beans and ribeye. Check-in will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 22. Head cook meeting will take place on July 22 at 6 p.m.
