Cuero Regional receive AMA Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award

Cuero Regional Hospital were honored Wednesday afternoon by the American Heart Association with a Stroke Gold Plus Achievement award.

The designation requires the hospital to reach certain qualification when it comes to stroke care.

Marketing Director Emily Weatherly says the hospitals main goal in stroke care is to give quality care to patients in a quick and timely manner, to reduce future complications.

“Minutes matter when it comes to stroke. The more time we can save you, the sooner you can get to the ER, the better. Because that can reduce your chances of death obviously or disability.”

Cuero Regional Hospital says it is dedicated to educating the public about the warning signs of stroke.

Common symptoms of stroke include facial drooping, arm weakness, and slurred speech.
