Cuero ISD School Buses Escorted Due to Threat
VICTORIA, Texas — Cuero ISD students had an early release scheduled, however due to some violent threats, some bus rides homes were delayed.
Cuero ISD school buses were at the center of an investigation led by the DeWitt Sheriff’s Office.
This, after a threat regarding the shooting of a bus was made Friday around noon.
The early release of students led to quick decision-making by law enforcement to escort every school bus en route to drop off students.
“Airing on the side of caution we went ahead and made a decision that we were going to escort these buses of course with the Cuero Police Department and DPS, to make sure the children get home safe, so we were able to escort Westhoff, Meyersville and Cuero.”
At this time, officials do not have many details on the threat itself. The investigation is still ongoing regarding the validity of the threat and who all is involved.
