Cuero Hurricane Harvey recovery update

Message from the City Manager: 9/5/17

Electric crews are still out in the City working on replacing poles and restoring electric.

Street Department and water departments are out cutting trees, collecting brush. If you are able to take your brush to the collection center on Broadway please do so. It is free and will help with the cleanup process.

Mosquito spraying is still in progress and will continue throughout the city. If you have standing water around your house such as flower pots, dog watering bowls, bird baths, swimming pools please try to eliminate that.

Volunteers, donations, assistance, etc. is being handled by Lifeway Baptist Church that has set up at the old John C French School, 920 East Broadway.

FEMA has added Cuero, DeWitt County to the list. Please file your claims but know that this will be a very very slow process. They are supposed to be setting up an office here in Cuero so will have more information as soon as we know the location.
TDS is on their regular schedule of collection that started September 4th.

Contractors doing work in the city need to have a permit from the City Building Department. This is for the citizen’s protection as there are many out trying to scam hurricane victims.

Thank you to all for your patience and support as we get the City back to full cleanup and operation.
