Cuero hosts 4th Annual Back to School Bash
The fourth annual back to school bash was held in Cuero Municipal park.
Newscenter 25’s David Gibson attended the bash and tells us all about it.
Its almost back to school time and one Cuero organization is getting students ready. The Tri-City Empowerment Council put the back to school bash together based on the idea off President Viola Holman’s late daughter.
“Her daughter had passed away and part of her dream was to provide backpacks for children. Free of course and have community fellowship,” explains Drosto Montgomery, Event Coordinator. So today Tri-City Empowerment Council did just that and passed out backpacks to children of all ages.
Making her daughters dream come true!
“This is awesome, i cant thank the community enough for coming out and giving back to the community and the kids,” says Dawn Green, Resident. Volunteers say it warms their heart seeing the children so happy to receive their new backpacks and school supplies.
“Oh its awesome, seeing the faces of the kids that light up getting these backpacks is just awesome,” tells Grayln Trevino, Volunteer. “It feels great to get our name out there, we want to get involved with the community,” adds Eric Basaldua, Wells Fargo Branch Manager.
“Everybody can say here its been a great opportunity to see the smile on these kids faces and to see the smile on Mrs. Holman’s face for continuing her daughters dream,” says Montgomery. Volunteers want the families to know people care about them.
“This lets people know that there is people out there that actually care and want to do things and show unconditional love. God is love and that’s where it all starts,” tells Renee from Total Entertainment.
Organizers want to continue this event for years to come.
