Cuero Football’s Dominant Playoff Run

Cuero 3-0 In Playoffs

How dominant has Cuero football been in the playoffs this fall? Let’s take a close-up look.
Adding to their 11-game winning streak, the Gobblers have won their first three playoff games by a combined score of 181-32. This means the Gobblers are scoring an average of 60 points per playoff game while allowing their opponents just over ten points per post-season game. An average victory margin of 50 points per playoff? Not too shabby.

Our Sean Coffey asked head coach Travis Reeve what it would mean to reach the state semis after losing in the quarters the last two years.

“It’d mean everything. We’ve been working for that since January. So this is a big week for us, and we’re looking forward to it”
Cuero football’s next playoff game is a rematch of an earlier 36-point district win the Gobblers had over Navarro.
Also, the Gobblers and Navarro have met in the playoffs for six straight years. This time it’s in the 4A Division II state quarterfinals Friday night at 7:30 at Comalander Stadium in San Antonio.
