Cuero Football Star Gets National Honor
VICTORIA, Texas — Another national honor for a Cuero football star.
Jordan Whittington, receiving his special jersey Monday afternoon that he will wear in the Under Armor All-America game. That event will be at Camping World Stadium January 3 in Orlando.
Whittington, one of 100 college prospects from across the country getting to play in this game. One of the head coaches for the game, former Cowboys star and Pro Football Hall Of Famer Deion Sanders.
Whittington is a three-time Max Preps All-America who has committed to sign with the Texas Longhorns. Our Sean Coffey talked with Jordan about the honor.
“Excitement and anxiety at the same time. You know, I’ve been anxious to get the invite to the game. Just watching the game since I was in junior high, and being able to play in it now, it’s a dream come true.”
Cuero football’s next playoff game is a rematch of an earlier district win the Gobblers had over Navarro.
Also, the Gobblers and Navarro have met in the playoffs for six straight years. This time its in the 4A Division II state quarterfinals Friday night at 7:30 at Comalander Stadium in San Antonio.
