Cuero Football Holds Media Day
Cuero football is just trying to treat this like they would any other game.
That was Travis Reeve’s prevailing message to his team at the end of Monday’s practice, as the Mean Green held media day at Gobbler Stadium in advance of their trip to Arlington later this week.
Cuero will play Pleasant Grove in the 4A Division II State Championship Friday morning, their first state title game since 2004, when Reeve’s father Mark was the head football coach. The Gobblers’ haven’t won the big game since 1987.
“Our kids and our community are just extremely excited about the opportunity to go play for a state championship,” Reeve said on Monday. “It’s been fourteen year since Cuero’s been in it. The town’s on fire, our kids are excited and it’s a lot of fun.”
Cuero held a full practice before Media Day, and is scheduled to depart for Arlington on Thursday morning, with a stop at Baylor.
Kickoff for Cuero and Pleasant Grove is set for 11 am on Friday morning at AT&T Stadium.
