Cuero Football Heads To State Semis

Gobblers In 4A DII Final Four

Cuero football has been this way before. But it’s been three years since the Gobblers have made it to the state semifinals.

The Mean Green fans, showing their support for their team once again. On just one block of Main Street in the Gobbler Capital Of The World Wednesday morning, I found all these signs of support for the Gobblers as they move closer to a trip to Jerry World. I asked two of the Gobblers what are the expectations they feel from their fans.

Said RB/SS Chance Albrecht, “We’re being held to extremely high expectations right now, just because of the progress we’ve made this past season. Expectations are really high.”
Said FB/DE Trey Moore, “It’s crazy. Everybody’s with us right now and they’re bringing us up. We have a great chance of going to state and they believe that also. They’re just moving us more to accomplish our goal to the state championship.”
Cuero football, on to the 4A Division II State semifinals for the first time in three years. They will take on Silsbee.
That state semi will be Friday night, 7:30, at Legacy Stadium in Katy. Cuero will be visitors.
