Cuero Football Gets Big State Honors

Whittington Named State's Top Offensive Player


The honors keep rolling in for Cuero football’s state champions.
The latest coming Thursday from the Texas Sports Writers Association. Jordan Whittington, named 4A state Offensive Player Of The Year.
Whittington rushed for 846 yards on 59 carries with 14 touchdowns and had 49 catches for 948 yards with 13 TD’s in leading the Gobblers to the 4A Division II state title. Whittington, named first team All-State all-purpose player on offense, joining Cuero offensive linemen Caden Jander and Brandon Nemec and defensive lineman Trey Moore as first teamers. Gobbler running back Chance Albrecht, getting second team All-State honors, while defensive back Keiran Grant was a third team choice. Cuero’s Travis Reeve, named state 4A Coach Of The Year.
